YouView also today confirmed that it will shortly publish its core technical specifications for launch which have required significant technological innovation as well as industry engagement to create a TV platform, based on common standards.
Its open approach combined with the subscription free model sets YouView apart from other TV platforms in the market.”

Interesting story in the Liverpool Echo yesterday about games industry tax breaks. Dr Richard Wilson of TIGA makes a compelling case for the introduction of Government support that will level the playing field for UK based companies like Citrus Suite, letting us compete with the other game development studios overseas.

Citrus Suite develops apps, software, games and produces 3D digital artwork. We develop on PC, iPhone, iPad, Android and game consoles. We are very interested in IPTV services such as YouView, Google TV and Apple TV and are partnering up with organisations and individuals to further our goals on these platforms.

I’d describe us as an interactive development studio and we’re led by three games industry veterans (that’ll be me, Paul McNally and Steve Donovan) with more than 35 years combined experience. We have a talented team working with us here at our office in Liverpool city centre and are always open to speaking to coders (iOS, Flash, AS3, Android, mobile, etc.) and artists (experienced 3D, 2D, etc.) – we know who to call should we need to ramp up for a particular project – it could be you! The Liverpool Design Festival was launched in 2009 as a new annual design and contemporary craft festival.

The 2010 Festival presents the show piece Design Show featuring over ninety contemporary designer makers, presenting a range of exciting and inspiring interior products, glass, ceramics, furniture, lighting, jewellery, textiles and fashion – all set against the stunning backdrop of St George’s Hall in the heart of Liverpool.

The 2010 Festival, building on the success of the previous year’s events, celebrates and promotes quality design, encouraging an appreciation of craft and design by the widest possible audience, providing opportunities for participation, particularly by young people, in design and artistic appreciation whilst also supporting new and emerging practitioners.
