Citrus Suite began work on the Citrus Engine in 2011 and decided to create an original game to test out its cross-platform capabilities and varied functionality.

Developed at Citrus’ Liverpool base, ‘Mystery Seekers: The Secret of the Haunted Mansion’ was published by Seattle based gaming giant Big Fish Games and hit the app store charts in early March 2012, other versions followed in 2013.

The game is a point-and-click adventure game combining old-school gameplay with puzzles and video cut scenes. The Big Fish audience loved the game. Mystery Seekers charted and ranked highly on iPad Overall Chart (out of every app) at Canada #5, Netherlands #12, United States #11 and United Kingdom #16. This means the app was downloaded more than some of the most popular games and applications.

The game reached number 1 in the iPad adventure games category in UK, US and 13 other countries gaining high review scores along the way. It also made the top 10 (in iPad puzzle games category) across 78 countries. To date the game has been downloaded close on 1 million times across various formats.
